ILNP (I ♥ Nail Polish) ~ Grape Alicious

ILNP (I Nail Polish) ~ Grape Alicious
Deep purple linear holo

Grape Alicious has been sitting in the box of untrieds for quite a while. There was a time where I bought a lot of dark, vampy polishes. Unfortunately I don’t really wear super dark polishes a lot. But oh well, you live and you learn, and now I’m not buying many dark polishes.

The formula is okay. The first coat went on a bit streaky and weird. The second coat did the trick though, and covered all little irregularities. The drying time is good too.

Here’s two coats taken with flash:

Here’s a daylight picture. It’s still a really nice, deep purple.

I stamped zebra stripes on it to lighten it up a bit. The zebra stripes are from  Moyou London’s stamping plate Back to the 80’s-04 and I stamped with a purple metallic polish from Barry M called Lilac Foil. I bought it for stamping and that’s all I ever use it for.

This is the final mani, including a layer of topcoat. The picture is taken with flash.

Here’s the daylight picture.

I like Grape Alicious so much better with a stamp on top and I think these two purples go really well together.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Finish: Linear holo
Overall impression: Nice vampy colour, good polish
Buy again: Probably not, but only because it’s a bit too dark for me

Powder Perfect ~ Land of Reeds

Powder Perfect ~ Land of Reeds
Lime green microglitter with green & gold holographic glitters

I decided to pair Land of Reeds with water decals. Land of Reeds is a microglitter polish and I love it!

The formula is perfect and the polish covers in two easy and fast drying coats. I applied LoR on my pinkie, my pointer and my thumb.

My ring finger and my middle finger got two coats of El Corazón’s m&s-172, which is a shimmery semi-matte white. It’s my to go white polish for nail art. Today I used it as underwear for two green striped water decals I bought on Aliexpress a long while ago.

I also added a black spotted stud by the base of my pinkie and my pointer. I think it made it all come together more.

Here are the two polishes I used for my mani.

I think this looks really cool. What do you think? :)

Land of Reeds is a limited edition polish, but it’s still available as far as I know.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Really good
Finish: Microglitter
Overall impression: Powder Perfect makes great microglitters and this is seriously cool
Buy again: Yes

Colour Alike ~ 516

Colour Alike ~ 516
Deep magenta scattered holo

Today’s polish is magenta; I really like magenta on my nails.

The formula is good, and this is a one coater. I applied a second coat to see if it made a difference but it didn’t. Drying time is good.

Here’s two coats taken with flash:

Here’s the same thing taken without flash. It’s a really nice colour.

I decided to try some of my bigger chevron nail vinyls. Smaller chevrons work much better on my relatively small nails, but I decided to give the bigger ones a go anyway. I used another Colour Alike for the job, namely “Red Moon”, a lovely burgundy metallic that I’ve used for nail art before. I made two dots on the other nails, applied a layer of El Corazón’s topcoat No. 421h/25 et voilá, my mani was done.

The topcoat from El Corazón is really cool. It has got little holographic flakes in it and can spice up pretty much any mani.

Here are the three polishes I used:

Great polishes all of them. I’m a fan!

Number of coats: 2 (but 1 would have been enough)
Drying time: Good
Finish: Scattered holo
Overall impression: I like it! Nice colour!
